Video Effects on iMovie

http://www.scribd.com/doc/206685/iMovie-HD-6-Getting-Started

Above is a link to a iMovie tutorial that will help us when we are editing our music video in iMovie. We are wanting to use split screen and 'picture in a picture' video effects to emphasize the actors emotions and storyline during the video.

Recee Sheet

This is the location where we'll be filming the park scene and the buskin scene. This park has a beautiful setting and will work well with the love narrative. I'm going to go back to take more photo's of the band stand.

Music Video Target Audience Demographic Analysis Report

We answered questions to do with the target audience of our artist to help us to understand who to aim our music video at. We commented on social groups and used evidence to back up our conclusions.

Step Outline (Beth)

This is the step outline I completed of our film which tells us the key points of our storyline and helped us to complete our shot lists and storyboard.

Written Storyboard

This is the written story board of our music video. As a group we discussed all the ideas and plan of what would be happening in different parts of the song. But when it came to framing each shot, I listened to the song in stages and counted the beats to when the shot would change. I took into account the song lyrics so the shot wouldn't change half way through a line. Then wrote down the details in the grid before moving on to the next shot.

Pitch Powerpoint

This is the powerpoint that we created to use for our pitch. Although Bronwyn was away (=O) when we did the pitch she contributed equally to the powerpoint. We created the powerpoint by dividing up the slides between us that we had to do. The information that was on the slides helped us to present our ideas  to the class in a clear and concise manner with visual aids to ilustrate ours points. You can see feedback to our class pitch by clicking on the following link: Pitch Feedback Linky =D

Class Textual Analysis

This is a textual analysis sheet that Beth and Mart completed in class of music videos from former students.

Scanning Error

In our last media lesson on 8th November, we had to scan in all the course work that we did for the planning of our music video. But for some strange reason when it came to my turn of scanning in work, the scanner gave up. So I've bought the rest of the planning to scan in at home. But my scanner isn't converting the image to a JPEG very well. So I'll find time during the week to finish all the scanning to upload on to the blog.

Mart's Textual Analysis

This is my textual analysis of an existing music video, "Whistle for the Choir" by The Fratellis. I answered questions about mise en scene, camera shots and editing styles regarding the visuals and genre form.

Production Schedule

This is our production schedule.

Website Research

This is a continuation of the website research. I went on several bands websites that are within a similar genre to Jenny & Johnny, as you can see the different bands have their own styles that match their band image.

Website Design

Below is the website research that I did to get inspiration for the website design. I followed a retro theme when designing the website homepage. As you can see the colours are bright and typically 1950's/1960's.

Digipack Design Template

This is our idea template for the digipak of our CD cover. On the research we did I found out that our style of genre use some kind of art element and to have a fun, quirky cover. I thought about basing our cover on some elements you would find in our music video like the spaghetti on toast and the photo's you'll see. I think it will be a successful CD cover as it's theme continues through out the pack and it's fun

Mart's Summer Homework

Over the summer we were tasked to research a band and answer questions on them. This would eventually help with the research into the actual band we'd be doing for the coursework. The research into the digipak's was for similar reasons.

Test Shot (Beth)

This is a test shot of one of our actors who will be playing the role of Jenny Lewis in our music video. We used this test shot to try out what kind of style we thought our artist should have.

Drawn Story Board (Beth)

This is a drawn story board showing a few of the key scenes that will be in our music video. We will use this as a visual reference when shooting.

Production Schedule (Beth)

This is our production schedule which includes important information for our shoot such as locations, transport details and contact details for our actors.

Beth's Textual Analysis Grid

This is a textual analysis grid I did for the music video We're All Stuck Out In The Desert by Johnathan Rice. We used these grids to give us some idea of what generic conventions our artist and artists of the same genre use in their music videos.

Beth's Summer Homework

Here is a piece of Homework that we were asked to do over the summer researching artists that we were interested in using for our music video. Even though we didn't end up using this artist I think the research could still be helpful in providing us with some inspiration for our work.

Synergy and Marketing - Bronwyn Stevens

Jenny and Johnny have a store on their official website which sells products of clothing and their CD. They have 6 items of clothing to say how well known they are I think that’s quite a lot. I think this shows that they are promoting themselves as artist to a target audience as they are aiming most of their products at women. Only on of the t-shirts are just for boys where as all the other products are just for women or unisex. They’ve effectively named the clothing after themselves like a ‘Girls pink Jenny Tee’ or a ‘Guy’s black Johnny Tee’ It’s a good way of selling a product as it makes the fan believe they can become Jenny and Johnny if they wear this t-shirt as they’ve bought the names into the title. They’ve maintained the colour theme of black, blue, white and red but they’ve got most of the girl’s items in stereotypical pink. They’ve also got the logo of the snake in a circle on most of the t-shirts to make them stand out as a band more.

Girls T-shirts

As you can see on these T-shirts they've got Jenny's name on the guy's T-shirt and on the women’s they've got Johnny's name. I think this is as to show how the audience reacts to who they like best in the band as the girls are always going have that aspect of fancying Johnny in the band and vice versa for guys.

This unisex T-shirt really shows there indervidual style as they've got an ice-cream and the snake logo what a random combination.

Their CD album they sell on there offical website called 'I'm having Fun Now' sticks with their vintage image as Jenny's got the vintage glasses on she wears. It fits with the American look as they've got their car in the back ground which is old and trendy. It doesn't really focus on them being recoding artist as they've got no reference to music on the album cover. But it shows them being relaxed and a couple which symbolise their relationship as artist.

To keep with there vintage theme they have a record.
